Santa Barbara County Venues
Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse in Los Olivos, California. Pros: Perfect for stunning mountain wedding photographs. The farmhouse is 300 years old, big and beautiful, and it’s in the middle of National Forest land. Cons: It’s pricey, between $7000 and $9800 for a week-long rental. You basically rent it as a private home. Also, the driveway sucks, as only back-country roads can, and the weather tends to be windy.

The Santa Barbara Biltmore – Pros: It’s a palace by the sea, ideal for princess brides with daddies ready to pay. The service is impeccable, and just for viewing this site in person they give you swag in the form of Godiva chocolates and a cute little silver heart charm. Now that’s class. Cons: You can’t do much in the way of personalizing the space, and the $4000 ceremony fee might make you consider moving the wedding part elsewhere. The reception food and booze is also expensive at around $11,000 for a 45 person dinner, but very high quality. You get what you pay for here (except for that silly ceremony fee – that’s just ridiculous).

Yay! I’ll update the listing – and I’ve got a question to ask you when we see each other again. So bummed to miss the opening, I’ll be in San Diego.
Can’t wait to read about San Diego Safari Park! I am planning a wedding there and would like to know the pros/cons! (I love animals and if I’m going to shell out cash for a wedding I’d rather it go to a good cause).
