You know me, I am always on the lookout for short-heeled, comfortable wedding shoes. I’m 5’9†and I don’t need or want extra height, and I love dancing at weddings! In fact, at my wedding, I danced all night long in my 2†heels (which took me most of the year to find and they were still a little plain).
I wish I had known Kristie Ann Couture existed a few months ago. She’s got a variety of styles that come in four heel heights, all of which are danceable:
- Ballet flats
- 1 ¾ inch
- 2 ½ inch
- 3 ½ inch
And they come in about 20 colors, with multiple shoe clip and applique options, and sizes that go up to 11 US, with medium and wide widths.

Now, I had a short dress – just above ankle length – and my shoes mattered to me. Just because they were short heels didn’t mean they had to be boring. If I had found Kristie Ann Couture earlier, I might have been saved the trouble of gluing glitz onto my ballroom dance shoes.
So, why am I only hearing about these NOW?! Well, they’re brand new, and exclusive to Advantage Bridal. I’ve been reading reviews of Advantage Bridal today and their customer service is good, prices are fair, and they specialize in giving brides exactly what they want. They accept special requests to switch out trims, add extras (like more bling on the heel please!), the colors are hand dyed, and the options for feathers, Swarovski crystals, rhinestone shoe clips, and other sparklies make each pair absolutely unique. And – these shoes come with comfortable padding.
Yes, I’m a practical bride and I demand comfortable shoes, but don’t give me footwear that looks practical. Bring on the bling – and pearls, feathers, and flowers, and if the shoe is Tiffany blue, so much the better.

It’s so hard to find pretty shoes with a low heel. They all seem to come in ivory satin only too! I love that you can choose your heel height and your color.
Those red shoes are rocking my world! Now all I have to do is find a dress I like, and I can go buy my shoes from Kristie Ann Couture. I was also thinking of wearing ballroom shoes – where did you get yours? And were they as comfortable as everyone says they are?
Renee – I got my ballroom shoes at Carmen’s Dancewear in San Diego, and I really love them. They are extremely comfortable! I had no problem wearing them the whole night and I can’t wait to put them on again for my birthday (at the Cicada Club in LA – woot!).
