It’s the wedding day! Well, at least a day devoted to the wedding

Today I’ve got to get all my work done early so I can spend the bulk of the day on wedding projects. I’ll be packing up my car with ALL the wedding-related paraphernalia I’ve been gathering over the past year (frightening thought) and hauling it to The Aunt’s house so we can organize it by table, take pictures, and put the pieces in individual boxes with explicit labels. I’m thinking this will take a long, long time.

Then, I’ll drive 30 minutes to the coast to meet with my jeweler about the Bridal pearl necklace. Shoutout to Princess Bride Diamonds in Huntington Beach! I’ll post pictures when this puppy is done, but we’re custom designing a way to affix my aquamarine pendant (given to me by my grandfather, from my grandmother’s ring) to the strand of pearls my fiance got me for Christmas years ago. The pearls have heavy significance for me, for reasons I won’t go into here, but they were one of the key signs that my fiance was The One. And the Aquamarine was in my wedding plans from the second I received it. It’s the nicest piece of jewelry I own besides my engagement ring.

If I can wrap my exhausted, overworked head around it, this sounds like kind of a fun day. But I got up at 6am to complete a rush job for a client, and I have a mountain of work to do from yesterday that I wasn’t feeling well enough to complete (don’t worry, just a one-day stomach ailment, I’m not dying). So feeling cheery is quite a challenge. Time for my second cup of coffee, or as I like to call it: Liquid Inspiration.

Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with a really great guest post while I’m out and about.
