I’ve mentioned how I’ve invested my new-found wedding knowledge into all my party-planning, and I believe I promised pictures. Behold:
Note the PhotoShopped Invitation (top right), the lace and ribbon bunting (bottom left), custom wine label (bottom right), and bad calligraphy (middle right).
Curating My Space.
Can we say Prop Vomit? Incidentally, the moroccan lanterns will be appearing at my wedding, along with Ganesh.
Elaborate Food Displays.
Note the hand-painted “Trick or Treat” sign above the ever-popular Candy Bar; the use of antique silver; and the height variation of the food display using old-timey books. All pages taken out of the Wedding Planning handbook. Also note the Manzanita tree centerpiece. The cute Halloween cookies are courtesy of Blackmarket Bakery. The manzanita will also be pulling double duty at my wedding, minus the ghouls.
The Dress (which took me two months to plan) & Hand-made Hat
My wedding dress was the inspiration for my vintage witch costume. Both have full skirts and tight corsets. I had the pink and black tulle skirt made for me, to my measurements no less, by TutusChic on Etsy and it is truly amazing. Can’t wait to wear it again!
In hindsight, I should have taken my pictures earlier in the day to get better lighting – or hey, just hired a professional photographer for a couple grand. Just kidding. I also should have gotten pictures of my autumn flower arrangement, and the skull and bone ice cubes that I painstakingly froze throughout the week. But I’m happy with how it turned out, prop vomit and all.
